To ensure new students, who aren’t living in cluster flats in McMillan, have a chance to form social/household bubbles before they commit to booking a pod, we have a sign up page Find Your Pod (www.tlsu.org/fyp) where we can link you up with students in a similar position.

Saturday 5th

Daytime: Move in Day

Description: Come and meet your SU team (whilst remaining socially distanced of course!) while you’re moving in to collect your freshers’ wristbands. All students can get a free tote bag, but only ticket holders will get it stuffed with goodies! (We will only be accepting card payments.)

Saturday 5th

Evening: Taskmaster

Description: A games night like you’ve never seen before. In our own online version of the classic Taskmaster show, we will put your group through its paces. Enter as a household and get your creative juices flowing… You will be told to have certain items close at hand in advance. What better way to get to know your housemates than by undergoing bizarre challenges?

Afternoon/Evening: Ramp It Up

Description: Live music and cheap drinks on the Laban green, enjoyed from your own socially distanced pods. Pods will be available for groups of up to 8 students and you will be allocated yours for the duration of the event. Just a reminder that only wristband holders will be able to attend.

Monday 7th

Evening: Quiz Night

Description: Come and test your wits because who doesn’t love to show off their useless general knowledge skills? Find out whether the knowledge gained through those many, many lockdown quizzes has paid off!

Tuesday 8th

Afternoon/Evening: On Safari

Description: Welcome to the jungle! Bet you never imagined heading out on safari in Greenwich… well, now you can! Channel your wild side by dressing as zebras, giraffes, lions and tigers and bears (oh my!) or just anything fuzzy or fluffy or feathery and everything in between… Or shake things up by coming as a zookeeper to keep your pod under control. We’re planning games, competitions and challenges (all socially distanced, of course). Look forward to spying you in the wild. Book as your pod, available for groups of up to 8 students. Only wristband holders will be able to attend.

Wednesday 9th

Evening: Escape Room

Description: It’s time to assemble your team, either over video chat or gathered round the same screen. We’ll be online from 6.30pm and at 7pm (on the dot!) we’ll send out the link. Hit go and make your way through the virtual escape room, solving puzzles to escape! Depending on your team’s skill level and knack for solving puzzles, the escape room should provide 1-2 hours worth of fun! We’ll even provide some drinking game instructions to keep you entertained, if you’re really seeking a challenge.

Description: Come along to find out some information about all the different clubs and societies we have to offer at TL!
No goodies this time (thanks covid) but we’ll make up for that next Season!

Thursday 10th

Daytime: Scavenger Hunt

Description: What better way to familiarise yourself with your new home, campuses and friends than explore Greenwich and potentially bag a prize or two? You will explore a myriad of backstreets, hidden gems and curious thoroughfares that Greenwich has to offer and discover some remarkable things about each one of them. You will delve into secret churchyards, trudge up the slippery slopes of several picturesque hills and discover places that you would never have dreamed could still exist!
Maximum team size is 6!

Friday 11th

Evening: Friday Night Dinner

Description: Hi Jackie! Can I come in? Join us for a proper dinner party, we’ll help you prepare a lovely bit of squirrel before settling down for a movie night together. The crimble crumble is on you though!

Order your Friday Night Dinner packages on the website (this is not included in your wristband). Contains: recipe and ingredients for 4 or 8 people. If you’re cooking in a flat of 6, why not invite two studio residents to join you? Or just save the leftovers for lunch the next day! The recipe will be vegetarian, but if you wish to add meat we’ll advise how. Vote for the film on the day via our Instagram page.

Friday 11th

Evening: Tropical Postgraduate Cocktails

Description: Come along and meet your fellow postgraduates at our pop-up tiki bar. Who wants to pay £12 for a cocktail when we’ll do them for £5 with a Hawaiian twist? We promise great drinks and socially distanced safety. We want to see you embrace the tropical theme, so dig out your leis and flowery shirts. Free to attend, no wristband required, but please book in advance (via our website) for our track and trace system.

Daytime: Dirrty Disney

Description: Beauty has had her Beast, Snow White has a dwarf for every night of the week and Peter Pan has finally grown up. Forget your ball gowns for this one, we want to see your best Disney character getting down and DIRRTY. Pods will be available for groups of up to 8 students and you will be allocated yours for the duration of the event. Just a reminder that only wristband holders will be able to attend.

Evening: Bingo

Description: Inside your goodie bag you will find a bingo card specifically for this event! Grab some drinks, and your household and let’s see who can get a row, column and full house first. Challenges, prizes and fun are guaranteed.

Evening: Secret Trinema

Description: Now we’re taking you back to school; and everyone is being sent to detention – only this one has alcohol! School fancy dress is absolutely a must. We’re keeping the film under wraps for now, but we’ll be releasing more information later. Just a reminder that only wristband holders will be able to attend.

Evening: TriviArt Attack!

Description: Bob Ross on speed. This is an event to really get your creative juices flowing. We’ll provide some tools in your goodie bags, but feel free to use whatever you have close to hand to complete our challenges. There’ll be prizes for the winning team… oh and a bit of general knowledge will be required too.

Wednesday 16th

Evening: TL’s Got Talent!

Description: Do you want the opportunity to strut your stuff for all to see? Show off some of your lockdown skills – whether that’s related to your programme of study or not! Feel free to perform in a group, however you will have to be 3m spaced (unless government guidance changes…). This will be live streamed to our Facebook page with 100% virtual audience. Book a slot now by dropping us an email to tlsu@trinitylaban.ac.uk! If we get too many applications, we will look at running further events.

Thursday 17th

Evening: Drag Cocktail-Making Class

Description: This is a bit of a twist on our classic drag show event. Join us for an evening of frivolity and glitter, as our guest Drag Queen guides you through how to make the most sumptuous of cocktails (or mocktails if you’d prefer). Feel free to join in with whatever you have nearby, or order your Cocktail Making Kit on the website (this is not included in your wristband). This contains everything you will need to make six delicious cocktails. If you want to order more than one kit, please do! Only available to over 18s. Mocktail kits can also be provided on request.

Description: Bring your own picnic (food only!) and enjoy our cheap drinks on the Laban green from your socially distanced pods. With live jazz music and a face dress theme… you’ve got to wear something relating to a letter from TLSU! Eg. come as a trapeze artist (Letter T) or wear a uniform (Letter U). Pods will be available for groups of up to 8 students and you will be allocated yours for the duration of the event. Just a reminder that only wristband holders will be able to attend.
