Class Description:

The class will start with a check-in followed by a warm-up, drills, choreography/creative tasks to end with a cool down and an optional reflection. Every month Transcendance comes up with a theme. The theme of the class is connection.

Bios:

Ashley is a Malaysian movement artist and facilitator based in the UK. Ashley began her pre-professional dance training at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, Singapore and continued her BA in Contemporary Dance at Trinity Laban. She is currently studying for her Master’s in Dance Leadership and Community Practice at Trinity Laban as she aims to create inclusive and safe communities for queer, disabled and marginalised people to explore and create movement. Ashley has developed her own style of moving, which is inspired by popping and hip-hop combined with contemporary dance.

Isabelle was born in the UK and has trained in a range of dance styles from a young age. Isabelle pursued a path in professional training at Trinity Laban from 2019-2022. After graduating, Isabelle now works for Swindon Dance, as a freelance artist as well as a programme coordinator for the Centre of Advanced Training. Isabelle teaches weekly based creative dance workshops that merges her style in commercial and contemporary dance. Isabelle also assists with Swindon Dance SALTO classes, for children with special needs. Isabelle has a passion to bring to people together through dance and find ways that dance can be celebrated and explored in safe and supportive spaces.
