Bio
AYZE Collective – a platform for emerging artists with unique and abstract ideas to explore, learn and create.
Founded by Ozzy Berzin-Cohen and Shay Bu, we are 2 emerging artists who wanted to generate a platform to create and explore with no pressure in a professional setting. We like to explores and research issues surrounding what’s considered Taboo and Abstractness by combing our different backgrounds and movement styles.
Shay Bu is an American artist who spent a lot of time training in Hip Hop and Urban styles before finding joy in contemporary dance. Shay moved to London where she graduated from London Contemporary Dance School and has worked with Jason Mabana, Rhys Dennis and AG2.
Ozzy BC is a non-binary multidisciplinary artist from London who started training in dance at the late age of 16 due to previously being an open water swimmer. Ozzy attended CAT at The Place before moving to Cornwall to live in nature, swim and train in Dance & Choreography at Falmouth Uni and has worked with Simon Birch, Kevin Turner and The Tate St Ives.
Together we combine our loves and styles to produce work that is intensely physical, mentally challenging and explores fascinating concepts. Currently exploring a work called ‘Faceless People’ exploring the idea of Vulnerability and emotional communication without facial recognition. Inspired by Queer Theory and the idea of ‘looking one way, behaving another’ we intend to produce a work that engages people in multiple different ways.
We are always looking to meet a wide range of artist, not just dancers and always welcome new artists and people into our Collective and community!
