On the 20th of November I would love to come in and lead a musical theatre/jazz dance workshop with the Trinity Laban Students. I will start the class with a thorough 20 minute warmup including cardio, stretching and strengthening ensuring that every dancer is in the optimum mental and physical state to bring their best to the class. I will then start teaching the choreography as I want to ensure the dancers have plenty of time to properly learn every aspect of the routine and feel really comfortable. I will break the choreography down into smaller sections so they have a chance to add each element on to the next with music and this will give them plenty of opportunities to ask questions. Once the routine is learnt, I would love to use the last 15/20 minutes of the class as a showcase opportunity where the dancers can perform the choreography in smaller groups. I believe this is an invaluable part of a class as it brings an audition element but in a safe and secure environment where the dancers do not need to worry about making mistakes.
I graduated from Bird College in 2021 with a BA (Hons) Degree in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre. After graduating, my first professional job was with UK Productions in ‘Beauty and The Beast’ where I performed in the role of The Enchantress, Dance Captain and ensemble. I then went on to perform as a dancer onboard the AIDA Nova for 7 months before embarking on the AIDA Cosma for a further 6 months. After this, I joined the cast of ‘London Never Dies’ at The London Cabaret Club which led onto my next contract in the original cast of ‘Roxie Rocks Chicago’ also at The London Cabaret Club. Alongside my professional work, I continue to train weekly and have been an active member of the House of Jazz Company for the past 3 years.
